Cpt Code for a suture less connector replacement

Deborah h Posted Sun 04th of October, 2015 11:59:54 AM

If a baclofen pump is replaced and at the same time the suture less connector is also replaced and connected to the end of the distal catheter and then to the new pump; what CPT code(s) would be coded? Please list both cpt codes; one for baclofen pump replacement and one for the suture less connector that is replace.

Also, please give the ICD10 code for the pump near end of life.

Thanks for your question.

We will code this scenario with CPT code 62361 (baclofen pump replacement) with CPT code E0785 (Sutureless connecter).

ICD-10 code will use T85.690A

So there wouldn't be a cpt code for replacing the sutureless connector just a HCPS code?

SuperCoder Answered Tue 06th of October, 2015 01:20:31 AM

Yes, there is no CPT code for sutureless connector replacement rather than HCPCS code.

You gave the dx of T85.690A;would that be used for a baclofen pump near end of life also?

"Pump near end of life" does not any specific ICD-10 code. For these type of conditions, we have only choice to use complication codes for that particular machine, that's why I suggested you to use this code for this scenario.
