CPT code-dural graft during a craniotomy

SuperCoder Posted Thu 19th of January, 2012 22:42:32 PM

The surgeon was performing a retromastoid craniotomy for decompression of faciacl nerve and it was impossible to close the dura because of the retraction that occurred after it was opened. He sewed a patch and then sealed w/ DuraSeal. Can this be billed separately. None of the codes from 62000-62148 will work.

I think the most appropriate CPT code should be 61458 for the given case.
