Patient bleeding during first trimester of pregnancy. An ultrasound was done at 8 weeks because of spotting normal. Patient comes in at 12 weeks bleeding. Second ultrasound 76801 performed DX code O20.0 used Wellmark denies information doesn't support ultrasound. What ICD 10 should we use for this Ultrasound? Thanks

Hi Cindy,

The appropriate ICD-10 code to bill for bleeding (spotting) during first trimester of pregnancy will be O20.9 (Hemorrhage in early pregnancy, unspecified). Feel free to ask for any further query. Thank you
