CPT 99420 with 2 units

Dr did both screening called "Teen depression and CRAFFT" and he informed us to bill CPT 99420 with 2 units but units is not applicable for this code. Please advice. Thanks

Thank you for the query.

Code 99420 is an encounter code and is not based upon time spent.

As per the Iowa Medicaid, the limit on Code 99420 is that you can only bill up to 2 units of this service per day for the same client.

I'll suggest, you should ask your respective insurer for the billable units of this code.
