CPT 87502

Good afternoon, Please let me know how you are billing this code. I have some office's that are billing as follows and getting paid. Thanks, 87502 QW 87502 QW 59 Is this correct?
SuperCoder Answered Fri 13th of January, 2017 05:00:37 AM

It is appropriate to code 87502- QW and 87502- QW, 59 on second claim line.

If the provider documents that the test provides two separate results — one for influenza virus A and one for B — it would be appropriate to report two units of code 87502.

Thank you!

I know this question goes back to the beginning of the year. But how do you suggest we handle these denials as duplicate code when keyed as the 87502 QW and 87502 QW 59? THANKS
