CPT 76942 sterotactic guidance

Penelope Posted Tue 03rd of April, 2012 20:56:29 PM

Can we use a modifier for a radiologist who did image guided assistance during stereotactic breast biopsy?

Thanks,
Caroline

If the site of service is a hospital (inpatient, outpatient or emergency department) or an ASC , the –26 modifier(professional service only) should be appended to the CPT code for the imaging service.
