CPT 62370

Sandeep Posted Mon 30th of March, 2020 06:38:25 AM
Our client is providing many intrathecal pump medicines such as Bupivacane, Fentanyl, morphine, Baclofen etc to different patients. at the time of performing CPT 62370. Are these administered drugs included in CPT 62370 or these drugs should be billed with J codes seperately. These procedures are done in office and ASC. Are there different guidelines as per POS?

Hi,

As per the CMS guidelines, all of the procedure codes that are related to the refilling and the management of the pump must be billed and documented on the same claim form, including the drugs that are being administered through the pump.

The administered drugs are not inclusive in CPT 62370, so the administered drug should be billed with J codes separately.

There are no specific guidelines for different POS.
