Medical Posted Tue 30th of December, 2014 14:33:29 PM

3 biopsies was done. One on the right upper back and the other on the left lower back. one on the right side of the abdomen. We billed 21920 11100 11101 is that correct? we did not bill 21920 twice as the insurance company have denied our claim in the past.

What denial reason did you got from the payer and what were the locations of biopsy in your denied claim?

Thanks !!

There should not be any problem in billing code 21920 more than once as far as the lesions are on different site over the abdomen and flank.

Just make sure to append modifier 59, distinct procedural service with each additional unit of code 21920.

Thanks !!
