Robert J Posted Mon 04th of August, 2014 12:36:55 PM

Can CPT 00920 be billed with CPT 55250 when lidocaine is in injected as the anesthetic?

Is CPT 00920 to report sedation anesthesia for male genital procedures as I have had insurance carriers call asking how many minutes are we billing for ?

Yes, code 00920 may be billed with CPT 55250.

Anaesthesia codes are billed in terms of Time units. You need to specify in the medical records- anaesthesia start and stop time. One unit = one minute of anaesthesia time.

Thanks !!
