Corpectomy/Osteophytectomy

Nicole Posted Thu 21st of June, 2018 00:11:19 AM
Osteophytectomy was performed at C4. Following that, a discectomy was performed at the C4 - C5, bilateral foraminotomies were performed. Similar procedure performed at the C5-C6 level where large bridging osteophyte was dissected through. A discectomy was performed at C4 - C5, bilateral foraminotomies were performed. After those procedures were completed the Corpectomy was performed at the C5. Titanium expandable cage placed. Would the following codes be billed: 63075, 63076, 63081, 22854? Not sure if the 63081 can be billed with the 63075/63076. It seems that is a lot of work to only be able to bill the corpectomy (63081).

Is there anything that can be billed for the Osteophytectomy that was done?

Hi,

Osteophytectomy is an integral part of Discectomy 63075 and thus will not be sparately billed.

Thanks.
