Consult cases - Date of service.

Christine Posted Tue 14th of April, 2020 16:35:00 PM
What date of service should be use for consult cases? The date of specimen collection or date slide is received?

Hello Christine,

Thank you for your question.

As per the above presented documentation, the date slide was received would be considered as the date of service.

Note: It is advised to get in touch with your payer for any specific guidelines for Laboratory/ Pathology Date of Service Policy.

Hope that helps!

Thanks
