Patient in the ED receives IV Levaquin start 2057-2243 and NS start 2056-2243. What would be the correct CPT codes to use? The patient does have the diagnosis of dehydration for the NS. Final Dx's were: Fever, Generalized Weakness, Pneumonia, Renal Insufficieny, and dehydration.
Per CPT , "Hydration may not be reported concurrently with any other service. A separate susequent concurrent administration of another new drug or substance (the third substance or drug) is not reported."
Can you help clear this up? Thanks in advance!

Presumably you’re reporting for the facility in this scenario. You are right that you should not separately report hydration that runs at the same time as the Levaquin (other than 1 minute, but that isn’t separately reportable).
The infusion time is 1 h 46 m, so you should report 96365 (initial) for the first hour and +96366 (additional hour same substance) for the second hour of the drug admin.
