CPT code 96372 is used for the therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic substance (a fluid, a drug, etc.) is injected via intramuscular or subcutaneous route into the patient's body. Specific drugs are not mentioned in the procedure. Injection of a vaccine or toxoid is not included in this code. Whereas, HCPCS code are given for specific drug(s). For estradiol following codes can be used:

  • J1380- Injection, estradiol valerate, up to 10 mg.
  • J1000- Injection, depo-estradiol cypionate, up to 5 mg.

Select the code according to the documentation.
