Colonoscopy diagnosis

Mary Posted Thu 29th of March, 2012 18:04:01 PM

We had a patient that came into the office with the diagnosis of rectal pain. After the colonoscopy the diagnosis was normal colon. Last colonoscopy was in 2004 and was also a normal colon. Can I bill a screening colon since this one was normal. She is now on Humana Ins. or should I make the diagnosis rectal pain?

Documentation of screening should be mentioned in OP report. Make rectal pain as the Dx.
