Is there a code the doctor can charge for collecting a culture in the office? EXample: diabetic patients presents for sore on foot. The Dr. debrides it and takes a culture. I would code 99213 (existing patient office visit, new problem) and 97597 for ulcer debridement. Is there an additional code for deciding to collect culture and send to the lab? Thank you.

Your surgical codes(97597) also include preparing the patient, sedation by the physician doing the procedure, local, topical, or regional anesthesia, the surgical approach, obtaining cultures, dressings, drains, closure, and documentation of the service.

Don't waste time charging separately for performing tasks that are included in the surgical package. But do make sure to charge for the work you do that isn't included.
