chemo check in global

Sue Posted Thu 05th of April, 2012 16:42:21 PM

Can you bill an OV for a chemo check or chemo edu during a global period? I have been told by medicare at a conference that it is considered part of the global no matter what. I have tried modifiers etc in the past and now have a new MD saying that we can bill for chemo check with a v code and a mod. Is there any new info on this? I bill for GYN ONC surgeons.

thanks

Yes, you may bill the “OV for a chemo check or chemo edu during a global period” (subject to medical necessity)
