Cardiac cath

Annie Posted Thu 24th of March, 2016 09:08:15 AM

I have a left cardiac cath with left coronary angiogram, right coronary angiogram, left ventriculogram. I usually code 93458-26. but this operation includes a CABG graft angiogram. That is new to me. Would the code be 93459?

The CPT code 93459 is describes right and left coronary angiograms alongwith ventriculography, if the physician has performed catheter placement in one or more bypass grafts with bypass graft angiography, then 93459 seems appropriate.Hence, check your documentation once before coding.
