CAN WE UNBUNDLE 93458 92928 ?

Renee Posted Tue 26th of February, 2013 18:18:17 PM

WE HAD TWO DIFFERENT PROVIDERS DO THE '93458' AND THE '92928'. IS THERE A WAY TO UNBUNDLE AND BILL FOR EACH PROVIDER OR JUST BILL IT BUNDLED UNDER ONE PROVIDER.
THANKS, AMY

Are the two physicians in the same group? A lot of payers have the rule that physicians in the same group practice who are in the same specialty must bill and be paid as though they were a single physician.

But note that you may override the 93458-26/92928 edit with a modifier when documentation shows the 93458-26 service meets CPT and payer requirements for a truly diagnostic service.
