Can the coder interpet lab values

Can a coder interpret lab values?

SuperCoder Answered Fri 21st of December, 2012 00:20:47 AM

Coders are not clinicians .It is up to the clinician to record his/her findings/diagnosis. Giving a lab value is not the same ... the coder cannot interpret the lab value, only the clinician can do that.
