Can 36246 be coded with a 75716?

Rebecca Posted Wed 03rd of August, 2011 19:44:07 PM

Can a 75625, 75716, & 36246 be billed together if there is one puncture site? I'm a little confused by the CPT guidelines under "Vascular Procedures, Aorta and Arteries." A therapeutic procedure is not being performed. Can the cath placement be coded separately from the 2 imaging codes?

As per my experience, we can't code 75625,75716(both) together with 36246. It can happen that sometimes the catheterization may have done to a higher level, but angiography might have done at the lower level cath, but not the opposite way.
