Provider did a C-section along with a cyst removal, can we bill 59510 and 58940-51?

Hello Wesley,

Thank you for your question.

As per the above documentation, the C-section along with cyst removal was performed.

CPT® code, 59510 is a more comprehensive code including antepartum care, cesarean delivery, and postpartum care.

If your medical documentation indicates that only C-section was performed along with ovarian cyst removal, then report 59514 with 58925-51, as in CPT® code 58925, the provider removes a cyst from one or both ovaries via an abdominal incision

Note: In CPT® code 58940, the provider surgically removes part or all of one or both ovaries, which is not indicating in your case. In your documentation, it’s a cyst removal, not an ovary.

Hope that helps!
