please specify the correct code for the following description: The patient was returned to the supine position, and the preoperative markings were felt to be perfect. Lidocaine 1% with epinephrine was infiltrated along the planned excisional markings. A 15-blade knife was used to incise the skin. The redundant tissue was excised in a wedge fashion tapering to allow minimal tension on the wound edges with closure. The specimen was sent to pathology for permanent section evaluation. The wound was irrigated copiously with antibiotic irrigation solution. Meticulous hemostasis ensured with the cautery unit. The defect was closed with several interrupted 3-0 monocryl sutures placed to obliterate the dead space. The incision was closed with buried interrupted sutures of 3-0 PDS and 4-0 Monocryl. Subcuticular 5-0 monocryl was used to coapt the dermal edges.

CPT code 19125 with modfier 52 is appropriate for the above mentioned scenario.

Our doctor is indicating the procedure code should be 19371 for the above. We read it as 19380. Why would it be 19125 with modifier 52?

Both the given cpt codes (19371 Periprosthetic capsulectomy and 19380 Revision of reconstructed ) are not being performed.
