What diagnosis do I need to use when the only documented diagnosis is right temporal lobe mass? Documentation says unknown if primary or metastatic lesion. Unknown if malignant or benign.

Hi,

Since the documentation does not specify the nature of mass which can only be confirmed by the pathological procedures. Hence, the one of the following code can be used upon final diagnosis.

Malignant neoplasm – C71

Benign – D33

Brain Mass/Cyst – R22.0
