bone lesions

Cheryl Posted Tue 21st of May, 2013 13:21:08 PM

If the final diagnosis is bone lesions but in the body of the discharge summary it says "possible metastatic CA", would you code the bone lesion or the possible metastic CA, or both? What would be principal?

If you’re coding for the physician (not the facility) report 733.90 for the bone lesions as final diagnosis.
