If bone fragment from foot was submitted separately from the soft tissue specimen (e.g. Ulcerated acral skin with soft tissue inflammation and necrosis) with a request from the physician to rule out bone disease e.g. osteomyelitis, you may report bone biopsy code 88307.


But if the bone fragment was submitted without a special request report code 88304.
