A patient comes in for a blood transfusion (CPT 36430) and a Chemotherapy injection (CPT 96411 and 96413), because of contractual limitations the payer considers CPT 36430 a surgical procedure and will not pay for the chemotherapy when both are billed together. Can this claim be split, by billing one service with TOB 135 (interim) and the other service with TOB 137?

We have reviewed the above mentioned query and it is related to billing. SuperCoder's Ask an Expert (AAE) do not address the billing queries. Please post another query which is related to Medical Coding.
