billing ultrasound in office

Mike Posted Wed 16th of March, 2016 15:38:02 PM

We will be doing injection with ultrasound guidance in the office. Can CPT code 64450 be billed with 76942? Trying to figure out if it is worth buying an ultrasound and doing some procedures in the office vs. in a out patient facility.

You can bill 64450 with 76942, there is no conflict. To buy an ultrasound you have to get various licences issued for the same. Also, for outpatient you have to pay for professional service whereas in your own facility, you can bill for the facility as well as for professional service.
