billing for specialist and family practice

Aida Posted Wed 27th of June, 2012 15:56:22 PM

Can we bill more for a OB/GYN, ENT services, then a Family Practice (who also practices OB).

My understanding is we can.

Hi Aida,

A practice can set their fees where ever they want, but they won't be paid more than the payer allowable. There is no payment differential by specialty by any payer.Your fee is your fee - you charge it, and the payer will reimburse the allowable which is the same to all providers.

I hope this helps.

Thank You
