Billing for hospital admit during PPM post op period

Kim Posted Wed 18th of May, 2016 16:20:14 PM
We had a patient that had PPM generator change out on 3/8/16 then had to come back to hospital for admission on 3/31/16 for infection at pacemaker site. Can we bill for this admit since it was for infection if so how would we bill it ?

Yes you can bill for the CPT code of the infection. However, you should look for the global day period of the initial procedure, so that both the procedures dont bundle.
