BILLING

Donna Posted Tue 06th of October, 2015 09:42:32 AM

CAN A PATIENT SEE AN MD AND AN OD FROM THE SAME PRACTICE ON THE SAME DAY FOR DIFFERNET DIAGNOSIS"?

Yes, you can consult on the same day, but need to take care of few things, like you should check the Medically Unlikely Edit (MUE) of the service you are billing for. For example, office visit code series 99201-99215, so among these codes only 99212, 99213 & 99214 have MUE value 2, rest are MUE value 1. So, only 99212, 99213 & 99214 can be billed twice a day. Hope it helps!
