I recv'd an EOB from BCBS and we were paid for A8ME3 IN TERST for $1.96. Has anyone seen this before and what does it mean? Thank you!

I have never seen this before, but I can suggest that from the EOB check the patients name and DOS, see the procedure or service performed during this date. I think you might get some clue or answer, for this $1.96. If yes then do reply.

I beleive it is an interest payment because BC did not process the clean claim w/i the allowed time by law.

Agreed with Sonja - they will issue an interest payment on top of the regular payment towards the claim if they do not process the claim (provided the first submission is a clean claim) within their claim-processing time frame.
