Patient seen for autistic disorder, 299.0,but just found out insurance policy does not cover this diagnosis code being billed for behavioral clinic. Any suggestions of what other diagnosis can be used as the primary diagnosis?

ICD 299.00 is correct for Autism. The insurance might not have the autism treatment as covered benefit for patient. In that case you can not bill for autism treatment service. Please check with your payer. Thanks !!
