OUR AUDIOLOGIST WAS RECENTLY CREDENTIALED WITH CONNECTICUT MEDICAID. ALL OF HER CLAIMS FOR HEARING TESTS ON PATIENTS OVER 21 ARE BEING DENIED STATING THE PT HAS TO GO TO A CLINIC FOR HEARING TESTS.THERE WAS A BULLITEN PUT OUT BY THE STATE OF CT DSS IN DEC 2002 WITH AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF 01/01/03 (PB 2002-45) STATING THIS. THAT MEANS THAT ALL OF OUR MEDICAID PT'S THAT ARE OVER THE AGE OF 21 AND NEEDS A HEARING TEST HAVE TO BE SENT TO A CLINIC, OUR AUDILOGIST CANNOT PERFORM THESE TESTS. IS ANYONE IN THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE? IS THERE SOMETHING THAT WE ARE MISSING, IE ANOTHER PUBLICATION THAT STATES THEY CAN PERFORM THESE TESTS? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS

Please contact Connecticut Medicaid for detail policy guidelines they have for performing hearing tests on patients over age 21.
