Can you please share what denial reasons they have given?

Billing with Assistant surgeon modifier depends upon the credentials of the provider.

You may use 80, 81 and 82 modifier only when the Assistant surgeon is a MD physician.

In case, the assistant surgeon is a PA, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse, you will have to use modifier AS.

In case you have billed 80 and 81 modifier for a MD physician, please share the exact denial reason with us.

Thanks !!
