Medicare has designated Intensive Out-Patient Therapy as a Level 1 Partial Hospitalization Program. Does this mean that one would use POS -52 with the appropriate 99231 - 99233? Or should we be using the new POS -22 with e/m codes?

You may report POS-52 along with appropriate E/M services rendered by the provider. As POS 52 states-Psychiatric facility – partial hospitalization.
