CPT codes for Arthroscopic synovectomy 3 compartments 29876, then excision medial meniscal cyst, partial resection of medial meniscus 29881, chondroplasty medial femoral condyle this would be inclusive with 29881, then Application of Amnio FIx liquid , excision of fat pad, suprapatellar pouch along with the anteromedial plica. Is the cyst inclusive with 29881? The injection of liquid graft 20550? fat pad , suprapatellar pouch and anteromedial plica is this all inclusive?

Hi Diane,

CPT code 29876 for arthroscopic synovectomy of 3 compartments is a payable service along with CPT code 29881 for arthroscopic partial meniscectomy and CPT code 20550 for injection of liquid graft. You can bill for these services. There are no bundling issues between these three codes. Medial femoral chondroplasty (CPT code 29877) is not a payable service when billed along with synovectomy and meniscectomy for the same anatomical region. CPT code 29877 gets bundled in CPT code 29876 and 29881. Excision of medial meniscal cyst would be considered included in the services of medial meniscectomy and would not be paid separately as well.

Rest of any other minor procedures performed along the considered area would be considered inclusive to the other major procedures performed on the billed date of service and are not billed as separate procedures.

Hope, provided information would be helpful.

Thanks!
