Arul karthik Answered Tue 11th of October, 2011 21:53:14 PM

for a total disk arthoplasty only 22856 is to be billed or it is a cpt code for the artificial device which can be billed?

thank you

CPT 22856 is for Total disk arthoplasty (not for the artificial device). To qualify 22856, the arthoplasty approach should be anterior.

It is any othe CPT code for the artifical device in addition to 22856, or is included? (doctor used Synthes Prodisc C)

Thank you

In this case (CPT - 22856) artificial implant will be included.
