Arthrex Suture Bridge.

Marianne Posted Tue 03rd of September, 2013 14:48:56 PM

Hello,
A surgeon wants to use an Arthrex Suture Bridge for a heel spur repair. He is booking it as a 28119. My question is about the HCPC code. This is a VERY expensive item. Our commercial payer pays L8699 at invoice, but is L8699 appropriate? Its not a typical suture that will dissolve or be removed. It does stay with the patient as like a tendon reinforcement. Would love to know how you would handle. this. Thanks

You want to use HCPCs code 'C1713'. Ask your commercial payer if they will reimburse for C1713 [as it is a payer by payer decision.] Because the Arthrex Suture Bridge uses anchor/screw material 'C1713' is the appropriate code to use.
