Can an ARNP or PA employed by a surgical group discharge a patient from the hospital after surgery or does the physician have to see that patient to discharge? This would be a 99024 billing service because it falls in the global period.

As per coding guidelines, CPT code 99024 can only be billed by physicians. ARNP or PA cannot charge for discharge services. Physician supervision is always necessary for discharging patient.
