Application of short arm splint

Can you bill cpt 29125 for application for carpal tunnel?My surgeon is billing this. Notes indicate no injury and the only note is Left wrist splint. The cpt code describes injury, just didn't know if you could use code for non inury.

No, you can use this code. Splinting is not done in injury and fracture cases only. The main purpose of splinting to Immobilize the body part to prevent the pain or injury and provide the rest and stability to the body part. You can use this CPT code with ICD-9 code of Carpal tunnel syndrome.
