Lynn Posted Tue 02nd of February, 2016 13:52:52 PM

Can you please advise how the 4 procedures below should be coded? Greatly appreciate!

PROCEDURES:
1. Removal of right atrial vegetation under removed tunneled catheter.
2. Patch repair aorto-left atrial fistula and repair of the left atrium dome.
3. Complex mitral valve repair with Cosgrove ring and commissuroplasty and closure of sub commissure.
4. Aortic root replacement with a 25-millimeter Freestyle aortic root.

Hi,

There is no specific CPT code for removal of vegetation and repair aorto-left atril fistula, you need to use unlisted code for these procedures.
For Complex mitral valve repair with Cosgrove ring and commissuroplasty and closure of sub commissure- CPT 33426
For Aortic root replacement with a 25-millimeter Freestyle aortic root- CPT 33863.

Thanks
