L Posted Sat 05th of September, 2015 18:48:37 PM

How would I code the following:
DIAGNOSIS: Solid pantalar fusion around the ankle joint with continuing pain.

PROCEDURE:
1.Takedown of nonunion with revision to total ankle arthroplasty, right.
2.Removal of hardware that was necessary to perform the case, right.
3.Gastroc recession, right.

Thanks!

1.Take down of nonunion with revision to total ankle arthroplasty, right = 27703
2.Removal of hardware that was necessary to perform the case, right = 20680.
3.Gastroc recession, right = 27687.

According to CCI edits, CPT code 20680 gets bundled into CPT 27703. So you can only bill for CPT 27703 and 27687.
