When a family physician does "allergy Testing x 72" diagnosis code "477.9" would "95024" the appropriate testing code on a 6 year old and would that be billing for 72 units? Can someone give an idea of how much this test would cost?

Allergy testing is done in many ways and there are different codes for different types of allergy tests. If an intradermal test is performed, CPT code 95024 is the code where as for percutaneous tests (Scratch, prick or puncture) CPT code 95004 is used. Number of units depend upon the number of allergens used for testing. In your case if allergy testing is performed with 72 allergens, then you can bill for 72 units.
Regarding the cost of the test, we won't be able to assist since we deal only with coding related queries.

With 95004, does this code includes "reading" and are there like other supplies and administration fees to also bill for?
