Admin code for Pentacel

Maarit Posted Fri 07th of October, 2011 19:46:48 PM

Pentacel vaccine contains DTAP/ HIB/ IPV. Should we count DTAP as 1 or 3 units when we bill for 90461, since it contains 3 different components?
In other words Pentacel admin would be: 90460 1 unit
90461 4 units
Is this correct?

DTAP:3 units.
Coding Pentacel:
90460, ---- V06.8
90461 x4

That is not clear to me. Sorry. Are you saying?

90898
90460
90562 X 4

Please let me know.

In LA Medicaid does not recognize the new Adm codes. They have told us to bill
90798 X 5
90471

All they pay is the Adm Code, which does not cover the Meds. So I say do not give to these patien's. Give individual
Injections!

What is your advice.

Thanks,
Patricia
