Pt. had L4-L5 fusion done and found to have adjacent segment disease at L3-L4. Please help with ICD 10 code for Adjacent Segment Disease. Thank you.

As per defination of Adjacent segment disease (ASD) isdeterioration of adjacent vertebral segments after a fusion, and it is a well-recognized outcome after spinal fusion. ASD occurs as a result of symptomatic degeneration of spinal levels immediately neighboring fused segments.

There is no direct code for ASD. You can report M51.36(Other intervertebral disc degeneration, lumbar region).
