97110 Direct one-on-one interpretation

Baila Posted Mon 24th of December, 2012 03:08:05 AM

'97110' Therapeutic Exercises requires one-on-one assistance. Can visual or sound capabilities (up to 15 feet away) to monitor the patient by personnel, satisfy the one-on-one requirement?

We are working on this. Please be patient.

Yes,It is expected the therapist does not leave the patient's side. This code is higher paying for that reason.

Thank you. Does CPT Assistant or other reference clarify this interpretation for medicolegal use?

A Very Happy New Year to You.

I am sorry to say, there is no CPT assistant article to verify this. This is the opinion based upon experience and interpretation.
