My provider, a pediatrician, wants to starting performing and billing cpt codes 96102, 96103 and 96111. Can he? Are there any carriers (commercial and CMO) that state this can only be done by psychologist? Are there any known restrictions that we should consider?

Paediatrician can perform the services and bill for CPT codes 96102, 96103 and 96111. These codes do not specify that they should only be performed by a psychologist. These codes require professional interpretation with qualified health care providers.
