What codes can we use 90785 with? Does it have to be additional time on top of the primary code time frame. Or is it just for every 30 minutes used with interactive. What are the guidelines to meet to make sure we can use this code.

+90785 is an add–on code. List separately in addition to the code for primary procedure. This add–on code represents communication factors that add to the difficulty of service delivery and increase the intensity of effort required of the provider in a particular treatment session. Because +90785 is an add–on code, payers will not reimburse you if you report it without an appropriate primary psychotherapy or evaluation and management services code.

Who can bill this code? Any license level that bills for one of the primary billing code? or is it just certain license level and up that can use this code?

This add–on code represents increased work intensity of psychotherapy services that adds difficulty to delivery of service, it can be billed in conjunction with primary codes for diagnostic psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, psychotherapy when performed with an evaluation and management service, and group psychotherapy.

I understand what it can be billed with. I wanting to make sure that any license level that currently bills for: psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, psychotherapy when performed with an evaluation and management service, and group psychotherapy, can also bill for the add on code.

When qualified health care professional billing primary code, also can bill for the add on codes. It is not required any other license to bill add-on codes.
