43235 vs 43200

Kathy Posted Thu 21st of June, 2012 13:07:13 PM

Pt was scheduled for UGI endoscopy which was not done due to excessive patient discomfort during procedure and only the esophagus was examined. Would this be reported with 43235 & modifier 52 or 53 or with 43200?

Since Patient was scheduled for Upper GI Endoscopy and procedure was reduced , you should report 43235-52.
