previous fracture/dislocation of ankle, with stabilization of deltoid ligaments and ORIF of distal fibula fx.....the patient has since experienced laxity and interferenc of bone fragment due to progressive calcification within the medial recess.
procedure peformed was open exploration of medial recess, removing any impinging scar tissue or bone and restoration of the ankle mortise. the very deep capsule ligaments or deltoid ligaments had been disrupted...the anterior capsule was reconstructed with #2 ethibond..
I was looking at 27726-26 and 27698? what are your thoughts

Well, seems like it is a non union of the fracture site where there is the interference of bone fragment. So it is suggested to code 27726 with modifier 52 as there is no internal fixation being performed.
